Winesap Apple Preserves

Homemade preserves make wonderful Christmas gifts, especially when the preserve is something you cannot buy in a store. Though you may use any tart apple in this recipe, our favorite is the Winesap–when we can find it, which is not often. Try your local farmer’s market.
