Paradise Bar and Grill: “Boat It, Bike It, Walk It”
“It’s as real as a swamp full of gators, as laid back as juice-in-the-blender, and as high-spirited as a hurricane. If you’re looking for a peachy place to people-watch, grab a grouper sandwich, and tap your toes to live tunes, this piece of old-time Florida is bound to float your flip-flops.” – Lauren Tjaden, Visit Florida
Paradise Bar and Grill is an open-air gem set along the sands of Santa Rosa Sound on Pensacola Beach. Rated a Top 10 Florida Beach Bar by FloridaBeachBar.com since 2011, it is one of only four beach bars that has made the Top 10 list every year since the competition began, “capturing the spirit of the community.”
Paradise floats our flip-flops at Gulf Breeze Natural Gas, too, as they cook up some of the best food on Pensacola Beach in their all-natural-gas kitchen. There are at least a dozen starters, like jalapeno poppers stuffed with lump crab meat and spicy beer-boiled shrimp. For the main course you can go for a seafood basket or a slew of great sandwiches such as poboys, burgers, even a New Orleans muffuletta on Gambino’s famous bread.
What makes Paradise unique is their live music, performed regularly on an open-air stage or inside the canopy, by award-winning bands. From local acts to bands from across the world, Paradise hosts a variety of styles, from blues to roots to funk. The bands are often traveling from Orlando to New Orleans, so they are glad to make a stop at the Paradise. In recent weeks the sun set over the waters to the music of the Nouveaux Honkies, the Nace Brothers, Tyler Mac, Dave Jordan, 30×90, and Paxton Norris and Michael Wheeler.
There is ample room to dance in the sand just a step away from your tiki-shaded table, or you might go cool your toes in the gently lapping water as you listen. All events are free and open to the public and you can find out what entertainers are scheduled to play at this link: http://www.paradisebar-grill.com/Events.aspx.
